My Journey
I began working in schools with both students and the significant people around them. I discovered a love for doing therapy and so moved into private practice in Cottesloe in 1990. I have worked continuously in private practice since then. I also taught therapy skills to the Masters students at Murdoch University in therapeutic techniques for eight years.
Upon completing my Masters in Clinical Psychology I became very focussed on the mind/body connection with illness. My PhD is in Psychoneuroimmunology which explores the interaction between our minds, immune systems and our emotions. My research showed clearly that psychological techniques will improve the mucosal immune system (our first line of defence against viruses and bacteria).
Personal Life Balance
I have been married for over 40 years and love spending time with my family and children and my dog. As a Cottesloe resident for many years, I have a great love of the beach and enjoy a ‘daily dunk’ regardless of the weather. I love qigong, pilates and tai’chi and along with the beach these form a daily ritual of wellness to ground me and allow me to thrive 😊
